G'Schlossl Murtal

We came to hit our collective reset button and have a few days of stress free relaxation and pampering while the moving company "did their thing" moving our belongings from our old apartment, to our new house. The room was fantastic, the grounds serene, The restaurant dishes exquisite... Even the staff were delightfully "better than expected"; one waiter in particular (Martin,) quickly made us feel "at home", interacting with us and our 7 year old daughter formally/informally like an uncle you don't see every week... He knew our names and preferences right away... We didn't really want to leave, to be honest... The only discouraging thing we could note at all, was that we wanted to "do more"; but it wasn't really possible due to "lack of pre-planning" or seasonal restrictions... (Example: My daughter wanted to ride the horses; My wife wanted a Mani-Pedi cure, but the spa had no free schedule times, etc...) Despite that, we still thoroughly enjoyed our time, and 100% plan a return visit. (No hesitation!)

The room was very spacious, and the hotel was in a beautiful setting. The staff were very friendly, but upon arrival we were told that the restaurant was closed because 75% of staff had covid. While this was a little worrying to stay in a hotel with an outbreak of covid, it also meant we had to travel 15 minutes back to town to find an alternative restaurant. Other than that it was great.

We had the great pleasure to secure an entire weekend and take over Gschlössl Murtal to host our wedding celebrations for around 100 local and international guests. Our guests were simply blown away about the pristine beauty of this place, the quality of service as well as the exception food which was served throughout the weekend. Almost all of our Austrian guests said that they would return in a heart beat and even our international visitors hinted that this was not their last visit at the Gschlössl. The magic of this place is really defined through modest, down to earth luxury. Everything you see, touch and consume is of the highest quality (without being in your face) and the staff meet your need before you even open your mouth. The Gschlössl is a subtle reminder that the good things in life still exist - a hidden gem within the Austrian Alps. A must visit destination!
